Thought I'd put this up. It's for the Vancouver Winter Olympics next month.
I really like the song and hope she releases a new album soon.

Dead Like Me
I'm not dead, I wouldn't be writing this but maybe I should stop tempting fate. The title is a tv series that was on a few years ago. I have both seasons on dvd and decided to watch them again.
If you've never seen it, it's about a 18 year old girl whose life is cut short by the toilet seat from a Russian space station re-entering the atmosphere and burning up. Unfortunately the toilet seat hits her when she's on a lunch break from the job she has just started. The girl, Georgia, dies instantly, but that is only the start of her adventures. She finds she can't pass on to heaven, hell or whatever is next. Instead she finds she has to stay on this plane of exsistence as a grim reaper to help souls pass on. All the other grim reapers unfortunately call her the toilet seat girl.
One thing that got me was when she looks back at her life and how small things, keepsakes, become so important to hold onto memories.
In the last post I asked 'What's in your handbag'? after seeing the question on breakfast tv. Lucy a lady who reads this blog had asked the same question just over a month before on her blog and got some very interesting replies. I put up the post because I trying to break a depressing cycle I was experiencing. Thinking about handbags, my first one, actually my late wife's, has become a treasured possession and now is mainly used to keep other precious momemtos.. At the time I didn't keep anything of my wife's because I wanted to use it. The trans aspect of my life had completely disappeared. When her sisters helped me with her clothes etc, it just felt right to keep it. That handbag has been out with me since on a few occasions.
Getting back to Dead Like Me, in season 2 there is an episode, Shallow End that touches on a transgender theme. A TS dies in an unusual comic way, the show is a dark comedy, but what happens next is anything but funny. The reaper this time is Daisy a self centred actress from the 30's.
The link below is an except with the TS's soul questioning God. I thought it was a powerful piece and it brought tears to my eyes.

Perhaps in the end we all get to be who we really are. It would be nice to think so.
Take care and look after yourselves.

The depressed feeling I mentioned earlier. That's gone and I'm really looking forward to getting out again. Just haven't figured out where to visit this time.

April
People born in April most at risk of MS - Times Online
I found the link above on the MS Society site. I wasn't born in April, but last year it was that month the Optic Neuritis hit me. April is a month I dread. It seems to have been a bad month for me over the years.
The link below is the post I put up when my eye stated playing up last April and happened not long after a incident that could be described as transphobic.

Hopefully this April won't be so interesting.
