Tales from The Multiverse

I finished 'The Female Man' by Johanna Russ (see last post). A very interesting book about 4 women from parrallel universes who are actually versions of the same woman. I guess it could and probably upset a few people in it's time. She does seem to have a swipe at everyone. In one universe where the battle of the sexes has created two armed camps that want to destroy each other. Manland makes it's own women from supposed weakling men. You have the half changed and fully changed.  It's not an easy read, but drew me in. It is a throwback to the late sixties early seventies. I'll probably read it again, because it did get a bit complicated.
Talking about parrallel universes the tv series Fringe had a bit of a transgender theme with the enigmatic scientist William Bell comes back to possess Olivia Dunham. I must admit I love Fringe and Anna Torv 's role as Olivia an FBI agent who just wants to blend in and never stand out even to the way she is dressed speaks volumes to me.
I've got another trip out very soon and this one is making me very nervous because it's so close to home. I was reading on a TG forum that perhaps people who are still in the closet are there because they are ashamed  of who they are. I don't think that is true. Maybe in another universe I am not in my mobile closet, perhaps I may have even transitioned. Then again maybe not. Who knows ?
